The case of Wayne Williams changed the importance of fiber evidence in forensics. It showed that fiber could be the only type of evidence in a case, and even though it is class evidence, if it is unique enough the probability of that person being convicted goes up a very large amount. Surely, many investigators have referenced this case and how it was solved when working on other cases in this day and age.
